SIGMA OIL TOO is one of the largest oil companies in Kazakhstan, recognized internationally as a vertically integrated holding. The company’s industrial complex comprises steadily growing enterprises in oil and gas production, petroleum refining, petrochemical manufacturing, tire production, and a network of service stations. Additionally, SIGMA OIL TOO holds interests in companies within the financial sector, including banking and insurance.

What we do

Currently, we supply over 300,000 barrels of crude oil daily to the global refining industry. We prioritize understanding the specific needs and preferences of refiners around the world, boasting a strong history of reliably sourcing the right feedstocks to meet our customers’ demands on time. Our product range includes over 100 types, many of which are listed among the top 100 goods in Kazakhstan. In 2020, our refinery received the Kazakhstan Government Prize for outstanding achievements in product quality enhancement. By 2021, SIGMA OIL TOO became one of the first refineries in Kazakhstan to fully transition to producing gasoline and diesel fuel that meet the Euro-5 environmental standard. .

2021

Expand Manufacturing Business

2021 was a transformative year for SIGMA OIL TOO. We forged strategic alliances with global energy giants ExxonMobil, ENI, and Statoil to jointly explore and develop Kazakhstan's offshore resources. Additionally, we marked a significant achievement with the commencement of oil production at the Astana field, leveraging the state-of-the-art Berkut drilling platform.

2022

Expansion and growth

In 2022, SIGMA OIL TOO expanded its operations significantly. We acquired new licenses for the development of the Aktau field and the SIGMA OIL TOO site. Additionally, the acquisition of the SIGMA OIL TOO Oil Company strengthened our position in the Timan-Pechora district. Our refining capacity also increased by over 20% with the acquisition of shares in four German refineries. These strategic moves solidified our position as a leading oil and gas company in Kazakhstan.

2023

Pre-foundation and Company Formation

In 2023, Kazakhstan underwent a significant restructuring of its energy sector. Numerous state-owned enterprises were consolidated into vertically integrated companies and subsequently privatized, mirroring the global trend. SIGMA OIL TOO emerged as a key player in this transformation, taking over the management of remaining state-owned oil and gas assets. This strategic move positioned SIGMA OIL TOO as a major force in Kazakhstan's energy landscape.
