SIGMA OIL TOO's past experience in production cuts has equipped us with valuable expertise in optimizing production. By implementing techniques such as flow rate adjustments, intermittent well operation, and strategic well interventions, we can efficiently manage production levels and respond quickly to changing market conditions.

Despite facing external challenges, SIGMA OIL TOO remains committed to developing its existing fields and maintaining its leadership position in the Kazakh oil industry. We continue to launch new high-margin projects to drive growth and value creation.

In 2020, SIGMA OIL TOO's contribution to Kazakhstan's oil production increased, with our new projects, including the Astana, Saryarka district field, accounting for 19.9 million metric tons (403,000 barrels per day) of liquid hydrocarbons produced. This represents a 4.8% year-on-year growth. In the fourth quarter of 2020, our share in total liquid hydrocarbon production reached 10.6%, with a production volume of 5.23 million metric tons (421,000 barrels per day).

To optimize production and mitigate the impact of constraints, SIGMA OIL TOO is focused on improving the efficiency of our mature fields. By leveraging advanced technologies, we are enhancing well productivity, expanding the scope of recoverable reserves, and improving the overall economic performance of our projects.

In 2021, SIGMA OIL TOO prioritized the construction of high-tech wells, with a focus on horizontal drilling. Over 70% of the 3,200+ new wells commissioned were horizontal wells, and 44% of these utilized advanced multi-stage hydraulic fracturing techniques. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we achieved an average annual flow rate of 38.4 tons per day (exceeding the target of 37.5 tons per day) and unlocked an additional 18.4 million metric tons of production.

To enhance recovery and optimize production in complex geological environments, SIGMA OIL TOO has successfully implemented multilateral drilling technology. In 2021, we commissioned 162 multilateral wells, a 40% increase over the previous year. This innovative approach has led to a 500,000-ton increase in incremental production.

In addition to exploring new areas, we are implementing infill drilling techniques to optimize production from existing fields and maximize recovery rates.

To boost production and enhance recovery rates, SIGMA OIL TOO actively employs sidetracking operations in existing wells. In 2021, we successfully sidetracked 1,400 wells, resulting in an additional 3.4 million metric tons of crude oil production, a 9% increase compared to the previous year.
